Default Winter storage

So I'm not ready to park it yet, but that time is coming and winter will be here. I'll be storing my GT in an unheated garage for a few months. When I bought the car in April the guy gave me a fitted car cover, but some of the things I've read has said to not cover your car. I think the cover is breathable, but not sure if there's a way I can tell.

What are your thought on using a cover?

I put Stabil in the tank and fill it up. Battery tender on the battery. Cover goes on, and it is not started until it is ready to come out. Been doing this for years without a issue.

+1^ & make sure you run the stabilized gas through the lines as well.

You may want to take some precautions against critters; you don't want a mouse having its way with your car.

A cover in a garage would only serve as a dust cover.

Feel bad for all you poor bastards that gotta put your car away for the next 6 months. I'm just getting ready to take mine out again lol, they've been stuck in the garage since May and I've been too busy with work and it's been too damn hot to deal with washing them. Just washed, buffed and waxed the '01 this weekend and hopefully will get the '67 washed and waxed sometime next week.

Anyway, fuel stabilizer as mentioned above, figure out how to mitigate mice etc if that could be a problem. Some people like to go out and start their cars once every couple weeks and if the roads aren't bad go for a trip around the block just to keep moving parts lubricated.

Yes, I know, winter sucks.

Thanks for the tips. im pulling the battery, no point in starting it if I can't drive it til spring.

What I do for mice is use dryer sheets in and around the car, so far they have been working

I am going to store my 2012 Convertible in a storage unit that doesn't have electricity. Would the best thing be to pull my battery and keep it back at my garage, on a tender? I usually charge my batteries up once a month and then take them off the battery tender.

What is this "winter storage" you speak of? Never heard of it.

Seriously though...

Stabil 360 works GREAT. I've always used Stabil for storage but I recently came into a situation where the Stabil Marine still left the carburator in my golf cart goobered up after sitting idle for a couple months. That's where the Stabil 360 comes in. They say it protects above the fuel line and my pressure washer that I left sitting for a couple months but with the Stabil 360 was as fresh as a daisy. Both rigs have identical Honda engines.

Stabil 360. I'm a believer.
