air filter relocation

hello...i have an SR CAI on my 04 gt...its a real PITA getting that filter out of the fender and back in...can i attach the filter to the MAF? Thanks

If you take the tire off and remove the plastic wheel well it's right there and easy to get to, it can be done in less than 30 min.
