So I was driving kinda fast and I down shifted for a turn and my car just shut off and now it' acting like the battery is dead so I went and got a new battery and it turned over a little bit but still wouldn't start could it be my alternator please help also I have a 2000 mustang gt with 4.6 and it' a 5 speed manual

Even if you have an alternator problem a new battery should crank the engine.

When you say turned over a little bit (as if the new battery was dead?)

If that is the case then i would be looking at the starter, look for burnt wires oil on the starter good wire connections.

Just some wild A$$ guesses, good luck

Just a guess at what's going on here, but did you check your engine oil? Not sure what you mean by turned over a little bit.
