Why does my exhaust not pop?
So far my 2000 GT has LT headers, Bassani O/R x-pipe and a Borla Stingers catback. So my exhaust is essentially straight piped. I am also on a Brenspeed 93 octane tune. My car does not and has never popped or backfired, even after trying to get it to. I am just curious why this is because pretty much all the straight piped cars I’ve heard pop. I do like some slight popping after downshift, but I’m not willing to go do anything crazy to get it. I’m more just wondering if there is anything I should be worried about. Possibly a fuel or spark thing? Seems strange to me, especially since I know plenty of people who’s stock v6’s, etc. pop like crazy.
