Default Headers

I have a 2005 Mustang GT, and I am looking into new headers and an off road H pipe. Can anyone point me in the right direction, for quality parts? thanks

Run a forum search or just look around. Header threads come up all the time.

Long story short, though:

Don't waste your time and money with Shorty headers. The HP gain is small (3-5 HP according to a recent magazine test) and the effort is not. Instead, get long-tube headers. There are many choices, performance is about the same on all of them. The difference in price has to do with the completeness of the kit and the quality of the parts.

Popular choices are the Hooker Super Comps (least expensive), Kooks, JBA, Dynatech, and so on.

+1 - all al mentioned are pretty equal. As far as performance you are not going to see drastic differencesd between them. It all comes down to what brand/looks you like.

No matter which you go with, getting them jet coated is nice IMO

From the ones I have seen "in person" I would say KooKs. I also agree having them coated is the way to do things no matter what brand header you buy.

I would've gone with Kooks but they are overpriced IMO. I'm going with Hooker and already have their Offroad X-Pipe.

+1 on the Dynatechs. Great quality and fit, awesome sound and performance. If you want to hear them, Pypes has clips of mine on the website with Violator axlebacks. They are listed as 05 easy run and 05 hard run. Vocoat went with the same setup and loves them!
