Default FINALLY!!! 4.10s are in!

Got them bad boys put in today and even though really I haven't gotten on it I can feel a difference. I'm chirping first at half throttle and passing is a bit quicker. Can't wait to see the real difference after I get them nice and broken in. The guy who did the install said my 100 mile trip back home would be good enough but I'm going to take it easy at least for the next four or five days. He was also honest enough to tell me he the gear pattern was off just a hair and I may notice a lil bit of whine after 40,000 miles. But he assured me I would really have to be listening for it. I hope his word hold true.

A good gear install should never ever whine. I have 4.30's in my fox body and they were just as quiet as the stock gears that came with itWhen they do whine if they do...you'll hate it.

Yeah I wish I could have given the guys more time but I was over 100 miles from home and I didn't have a ride back home so I had to get outta there by close of buisness plus I have to be at work tonight. My pick up ride had to be somewhere today so I had to have my car in time to get to work tonight. I haven't heard any whine but I'm def paranoid right now.

If you don't hear whine now that's a good sign, but keep an ear out and break 'em in for a few hundred miles. They should be fine, congrats! I need to pull a good mechanic out of my **** soon, the shops I'm being told to go to are too damn far away.

now the big question, are you kicking yourself and wanting 4.30s?

I think I've found happy medium especially since I actually do a bit of hwy driving. If ALL my driving was in the city and I had a second vehicle then I would have thought 4.30s

Have fun! I know I love em. The higher the gear, the more difference you should be able to tell compared to stock.

That is called a lower gear ratio. It takes more turns of the driveshaft per tire revolution. Higher gear would be going to a 3.31
