Default Pro 5.0 Shifter for 2005+ GT

Has anybody purchased this new shifter from Pro 5.0 for the new GT?

I know Pro 5.0 has been known to make great shifters for the Mustang. My buddy had a Pro 5.0 on the Tremec in his '78 Camaro
and I loved the way it felt. Anybody have any input here?

I have the Pro 5.0 and absolutely love it. It feels real solid and makes shifting a lot easier than with the stock unit. Some have complained that 5th and reverse are hard to get into but in my case it’s really not that big of a deal at all. I do experience a bit more vibration over the stock unit but that’s expected with the stiffer bushings and beefier construction.

I have had one for a year and have zero complaints. Buddy of mine has the Hurst, and I have driven both. Head and shoulders above the Hurst.

Yes it does. The pro 5.0 is a great shifter, I would really recommend it, Make sure that when you install it, you place the spacer on the correct side. 5th gear and reverse are going to be hard to engage at the begining but they will lose up with the time.

Thanks for the input everybody.

Awesome, I want to keep to stock look.

Why do you say make sure you install it on the correct side? Is it confusing in the instructions or are you just speaking from experience because you accidentally learned this the hard way?

I have one more question for you guys.

How often are we supposed to change the fluid in our Tremec 3650s?

The pro 5.0 is designed to be hard to engage in 5th and reverse, the day I installed my shifter we put the spacer in the wrong place, therefore the hard gars were 1st and 2nd gear, You need 1st and 2nd to be the easiest ones to get a good 60 ft.

I've read multiple times the Pro 5.0 is better than the Hurst. Don't like the look of the Hurst anyway (high, chrome stick) - prefer the short look similar to stock.

But what about the Steeda?
how do the Pro 5.0 and Steeda Tri-Ax compare? from what I've read, they seem comparable. Are they much the same really, in fit and operation?

I'm looking to buy one of these soon, as the stock shifter = suxxors
thanks

Actually they're too similar. I heard that Steeda has a copyright infringement suit against pro 5.0.
