Default What's the deepest exhaust setup?

I like an exhaust that has a very low/deep sound to it. it doesn't necessarily have to be the loudest exhaust jus the deeper the better, IMO. So what do you guys thing is the deepest exhaust. i was thinking the borla stingers by FRPP. possibly LT headers and X-pipe too, but not sure on which ones.

cmsufr22,

I was searching for the same thing and I selected the same mufflers, FRPP Stingers. I listened to a lot of exhaust clips on the internet, too. The Stingers sounded the deepest to me. I put them on the car last week and I am thoroughly satisfied.

These are much deeper than stock. A bit of a drone, though, but I'm sure you've read about it. They are louder, but not obnoxiously loud. After having them for a week, I can't understand why they are illegal in CA. I don't think twice about driving through my neighborhood late at night or early in the morning.

I don't have an X-pipe, so I can't comment about the change in sound if you were to add one.

Borla or Bassani are the deepest out there from what I hear (Mac is pretty deep too).

An X-pipe will make it higher pitched. Get an H-pipe instead! Or a Mac Prochamber (I don't know if the prochamber is deeper than a regular h-pipe or not).

Old Chinese Saying: "What resonates deep on the outside, also resonates deep in your skull as drone."

At what RPM do you have the most drone? Is it bad between 2500 to 3000 rpm's?

Stingers are very deep but drone between ~1800 and ~ 2100. It doesnt bother me at all, but to some it is a problem.

Drone is a very low sound that.................well it's kinda hard to explain, but here it goes. Just image that the bass in you car is at a really low frquency but the volume it really high, it kinda gives you a headache, that i swhat drone is.

It's resonance in the cabin of the car. Many after-market mufflers will result in more of this in-cabin noise than stock mufflers. Some people find it annoying, while others (like me) think it's what a muscle car should sound like.
