Default Detriot Tru-trac

Is anyone running this diff in there S197? I'm thinking of upgrading to this diff, what should I expect? I hopping for at least better traction on top off replacing what seems to be identified as the weak link in the rear end. But are there any negative effect of this diff such as more NVH?

I don't think the 8.8 has had to many big changes in recent years, just minor stuff here and there. But what do I know since the only other stangs I've been under have been new edges

Well Im running a 9" rearend im my car... but the true trac itself, it seems to me, regardless of which vehicle it's in is going to perform outstanding.... and unlike other limited slip rearends, there are no clutches to burn in the true trac....

I'm running a Truetrac in the factory 8.8 rear end. It's great. No wheelspin, no wierd sounds, it's nice and smooth.

I'll be honest, I was a bit skeptical. I was coming from a 4x4 background, where "limited slip" diffs have a bad rap compared to something like the Detroit Locker. I was expecting a little bit of spin now and then. But nope, it works great and delivers killer traction.

The only issue I had was with installation. The spacer block that you must insert between the axle shafts was just a hair too large. I had to take it up to work and put it on the surface grinder to remove 0.005" from it.

I have the Tru-Track and love it. I had the same installation problem with mine.

Pretty much any speed shop or hot rod shop. I bought mine from Summit. You could also try Jeg's, Reider Racing, Randy's, etc...
