Default performance upgrades for 06 GT

ok, as you all know christmas is coming up soon. i know my dad is going to be buying stuff for my 69, so i really want to surprise him this year with something for his 06 gt. right now he has BBK cold air intake and flowmaster exhaust, and everything is stock. i am thinking maybe headers for his 06, something that will add power and not require a computer tune. what kind of headers do you guys recommend? any other kind of mod that i am not thinking of please go ahead and say.

does he have an hand held like sct or something, the price for the headers and all wont be worth it, youll only get gains by going with long tubes, so it would be best to get him a tuner and a tune, hell really feel it then

If you want power, you need longtubes. Unfortunatley longtubes are pricey.

The best brands in my experience are Kooks, Dynatech, and American Racing. All three companies supply complete kits that are ready to go, though for the full benefit, get a good tune from a shop like Brenspeed or Evolution.

A tune? $60 or so is typical. Ask your father where he got the tuner. If he bought it from a good shop, they might offer tunes for free.

As for the price, $200 headers for this car would be everyone's dream. The cheapest headers which are painted steel (Hooker) are about $400. A good set of stainless headers is over a grand, easily. (of course, that does include the midpipe and cats)

Longtubes are worth about 15-25 HP.

Shorties are worth 2-5.

Try using the search button.. Has been discussed many times

TB is not worth it, and it has lead to many problems for alot of people

There is not intake for the 3v yet, FAST showed one at SEMA but will not be out till the end of the 1st qtr next year
