knocking out cats
Factory exhaust can include a high flow cat from Ford, but once you take off that ford OEM Cat and install XYZ brand high flow cat, you just broke the law....anyways. When you knock out the insides of the cats do you pretty much use a soft face mallet, not to cause any outside damaga or what?
just buy a off road H or x pipe. its good for about 8-10rwhp, is what I gained. and i just have my stock exhuast on. sounds good after 2500rpm. its not loud till you get on it full throttle.
This way you can swap back to your old set up if you have smog. cats can be $$$$$$

Dont KNOCK OUT UR CATS I almost did the exact same thing until I looked up the price for the stock cats. Go and look up how much the cats cost lol. Also dont get those stupid high flow cats, I have not heard from a single maker of high flow cats that dont break and sound like a tin can in the long run. Just get an offroad X pipe that goes from the headers down and you should be set.

Thanks Royboy, I guess what some people here are not thinking about is, If you knock them out, the dealer thinks your car is still stock! And yes you will gain HPs. I did it on my old 88 GT and it made a big sound and HP gain, but I was not sure if it would trip codes on the new 07s.

I am about to remove my cats but also worried about getting codes, did you finally remove yours? did you get any codes?
P.S. I have an GT 05
Hello Again gconnsr....
I finally remove the cats from my stang; I did not get any code, however, it is not my daily car so I can not be sure that a code won't come. I will keep you posted.
BTW,
the loudness does not increase to much, I have the stock mufflers an any tune or modification.
Best Regards.

I did not find I this one is capable to turn off the O2's.
Best Regards.
I know the diablo predator has an option for turning off the rear O2 sensors.
