Default X-pipe VS H-pipe

Was wondering which mid-pipe works best with chambered VS straight-thru muffler? I am not too worried about horsepower gains from the mid-pipes. More concerned about the sound. I am looking for a deep throaty rumble, NOT an exotic, raspy sound!

h-pipe all the way then....the x pipe with give that raspy sound you are talking about. Most choose the pypes h-pipe from brenspeed. Great sound and only $170!

here's my setup SLP Loudmouth with Brenspeed's Pypes H-Pipe. If you don't want it really loud you probably don't want to go with the SLP Loudmouths. Go over to Brenspeed's website to watch some other videos.

If' it's an annoying buzz/raspy sound between 2500-3500 rpms, the H will take care of that. I really don't like x pipes at all.

Thanks guys.So why not just keep the stock H-pipe? I want to keep my exhaust catted, and I have read that the after-market "hi-flo" cats are not much more free-flowing than the stock cats. Also, what about the MAC pro-chamber? I read it offers the best of both worlds: deep throaty sound and a few extra horses.

If you go go brenspeed.com, you can hear them test the x and h pipe. sorry but the x sounds like crap.

I've read that the stock h pipe on the 05's and up flow pretty good. i've heard the mac pro chamber on a 01 GT and it sounded weak to me, but others will tell you it sounds great.
