Default Cold-Air Question

Do any company have plans to develop a true cold-air system for our cars? Is it possible? Thanks

Western Motorsports (WMS) sells a 'cold air tray' which acts like a funnel through the front grill. More than I wanted to pay for a CAI.

Also, the shaker systems have tubing to route outside air through the hood scoop to either the stock air box or an aftermarket CAI.

How are those systems compared to the cone filter systems?

Are there any plans to make one that goes into the fenderwell? Is that possible on our cars?

The shaker gains are not all that much and the WMS is about the same as any CAI (C&L/JLT/Steeda)

Yeah, the fender construction also does not lend itself to punching a hole through to pick up 'cool air' like pre s197 models.

Another option if you are really concerned about your inlet temps would be to buy an aftermarket hood with heat extractor features (holes). Not sure how effective these are ultimately.
