I hear everyone saying to get FRPP "A" gears. Brenspeed seems to be great to their customers, yet they only sell high performance Motives. When i talked to Brent, he said they do not get whine when they install these gears. He said motive makes 3 categories of gears and they only sell the best brand, which is an equal to FRPPs. Have any of you had experience with the gears that Brenspeed sells???

 

I have no experience with motive gears. I bought the frpp A gears from summit. The whole motive whining problem you read about could be BS, i'll give you that. If Brent says the gears don't whine then i'm going to believe him. It's amazing how fast things can get out of hand when the internets involved.

Try doing a google search for motive gear whine and see what you get.

 

I am paranoid and therefore got some FRPP "A" gears, but seriously considered going with brent's motives because he obviously wouldn't and doesn't sell anything of inferior quality (plus motives are less $$)...

 

Do a search on TMS. You'll find plenty of "my motives whine" threads. Why take the chance to save yourself $30. If Brent is that good, he'll install the FRPP gears even if you have to bring them to him. An expert installer can install any gears and have no whine. But like I said why take the chance?

I personally know of 2 people that have had problems with Motive gears. You do have to watch out for internet propaganda though.

 

well regardless of what brand you choose, definitely do them...I was reluctant at first but man what a difference!

 

I have had both, FRPP 4:10's and Motive 4:10's. It is not the brand, it is the install that causes whine!
