are you talking about reving it up for 4k rpms and dropping the clutch at the track? Ive heard a couple people have broken their tranny at 450 to the wheels but they were really launching hard with drag radials

I read on wikipedia (not a reliable source but anyway) that the 3650 can take 360 ft/lbs in one form and 390 in another. Didn't mention rwhp, but that gives you some idea anyway...

I have seen where people have broken their input shafts, but haven't seen any broken manual transmissions. Now the autos are dropping like flies it would seem.

Tranny's and driveshafts should not be rated in HP. If you see some vendor stating it can handle 600hp and so on run away. You can have 1hp with 2,000,000 lbs of tq.

if you don't run a drag tire it might live forever. things like this, however, are always subject to that "slim to none chance" of failing even if it seems to be good.

If you got a new input shaft could they handle a lot more?

Just so you know the input shaft broke at the track I believe and He was pushing 500 at the wheels. If the input shaft hadn't broken then something else might have, like the ring and pinion or worse.
