Default Filter Mag

How many people use one. If you do why do you? What do they really do for you? I use one.

the one for the oil filter? it's supposed to remove metal flakes from your oil...very good to have.

[sm=funnypostabove.gif][sm=guilty.gif]I have the same one but someone brought up to me that the block is aluminum and magnets dont work on them? I said just because the block is aluminumaren't the rings and rods and everything else made of metal that will stick to a magnet? He just looked at me funny and didn't answer. The advertisement made sense to me but it is not hurting anything anyway and I know I did not pay 50 bucks for mine ..maybe 30 with shipping. I have the one with more magnets as well, 12 as opposed to 8 (I think).

I either don't understand what you mean or we are thinking of two different things. The filter mag stick to the oil filter not the block.
I have one on mine. Can't say if it helps or not but it's just peice of mind....

By stating that the block was aluminum he meant that anything that would get into the oil would not be held by the magnet. I said the car is not all aluminum and these things have been known to work from what I have read.
