Default Headers

Ok so im looking at getting some long tube headers. You can either buy a pair for $500 or $1500! Are you really going to see a differance in horsepower between the two? I mean $1000 is a lot of money and if you will only see something like 1 or 2 rwhp then it isnt worth it. Just looking to see what everyone thinks. By the way lets say that the headers are both ceramic coated and everything so they are equal! just looking to see if it will be worth the extra money to buy lets say Stainless Steal Works Vs. Hooker.

first off stainless works is one of the best quality LT's you can buy. the HP is probobly the same, but the quality is what you are paying for. I only had my BBK LT ceramic for 4 months so i cant say how durable they are, but they did cost about 550 thats why i got them. stainless works and kooks are about the best BBK, hooker, mac are about the same. dont get the cheap stuff. you get what you pay for. if you are looking to save money i would say hooker is a great, reliable brand name.

so what are the power gains (roughly speaking) for

LT headers=?
X pipe=?

I had a bad experience with mac axle-backs because of noise/drone, what difference to sound level do the above 2 mods make?

Thanks

Well the only reason i was asking is cuz some of the header have some different bends in them but i dont think that could make a horsepower differance worthy enough for 500 extra dollars.

it seems to me like unless you're hell bent on that nice exhaust sound, the LTs aren't worth the money gain-wise unless you're using them on an FI car. That seems to be the general consensus.
