Default Before I Get Blown

OK, so I want to get blown probably within 8-10 months depending on finances. I'm thinking a Whipple or KB, depending on the deals available at the time. I want to do this right and with reliability, so I'd like your feedback on what I need to do prior to my install. Obviously, I want to ensure my drivetrain is strong enough to handle the additional HP. Here are my current performance mods.

C&L CAI w/ 93 tune
Steeda UDP - would have to return to stock?
FRPP 4.10 gears - would most likely have to drop to 3.73's?
Stock manifolds - I know I should get some 1 3/4 LT's?
o/r Prochamber to Pypes MM's - keep
MGW shifter - keep

Am I overthinking this? Just tell me to grow a set and order a HO kit.

You won't be able to use the C&L CAI or the Steeda UDP. Being a manual, you should be ok with the 4.10s but depending on your tire size, that may prove to be too much gear. If you run 28 inch DRs at the track, you'll probably be ok. Stock manifolds are something that would restrict you but aren't a required replacement. You could see 25ish HP with a move to LTs after the blower is on. If you go with LTs, you'll need a new mid-pipe.

Depending on your boost levels, I'd think about upgrading the stock internals before hand. If you're going with a HO kit but get a safe tune, you'll be ok but tuning is crucial. If you're pushing north of 450 to the wheels and the tune isn't spot on, it'll be a matter of time before the internals come out the bad way.

Also think about rubber in the back. All that power won't be any use to you if you're on stock rubber. Some nice DRs or at least some BFG KDWIIs would do you good. I'm sure others could be more specific to make you a list of necessities vs a "best practices" list.

What HP levels are you looking to achieve? That will have a big effect on what you should do before boosting. Sometimes doing things before is cheaper than doing things after if you know what I mean.

Get rid of that UDP, and that intake will probably need to go too. You should probably start building up the suspension. The drivetrain will hold up fine with the extra power, the rear suspension...not so much. You'll have a lot of traction and wheel hop problems.

You should upgrade your clutch now. The clutch needs several hundred gentle break in miles before you can beat on it, so it would be a BAD ida to install it at the same time as the supercharger, unless you have insane willpower.
