I'm new to this forum as I recently purchased a 2008 GT Premium.A couple of questions, first at what point (mileage wise) is it okay to upragdeto a CAI ,W/Tuner, and muffler delete pypes? Also, when to switch to fully synthetic oil? I have 1000k to date. Thanks for any advise...

 

You could do it now. 1 k to date on the mileage, switch to synthetic when you feel comfortable to change. mileage wise, you should be okay. If you have the cash saved up I would do the cai,tune first, deletes later and synthetic when you feel it's time to change your factory motorcraft.

 

Recommended mileage to begin modding is the distance from the dealership to your house.

You'll get varying opinions on mileage to go to full synthetic. Many herewent to full syn ontheir 1st oil change as I did, other's waited longer. IMO, I see no reason to wait.

As I understand it, don't the 08's come with synthetic blend from the factory? If so, I see no reason to wait as well........

 

I switched to synthetic oils after my first oil change. As for other modifications, I waiting about 10,000 miles but that was because I had no money.

 

I went to full syn at 1K. CAI and Tune - before the ink dried on the sales contract.

 

As for the oil, I would wait until its time for the first oil change. No point in wasting money were its not needed.

As for the mods........ Its too late, you waited too long.LOL. There is nothing wrong with modding immediately. Mine had less than 30 miles when the blower went on!

 

like most have said, at 1k you are ok to switch to full syn and mod away..!

 

I also went to full synthetic at around 1K. I installed the SC before going to synthetic.
