You will need to replace your springs and retainers. If you didnt when you changed cams.Check you lifters they might not be bad. It might be your valves are traveling wrong since cam change.

Umm..our cars are OHC (overhead cams), therefore no pushrods, therefore no lifters

Do you mean the cam followers or valve retainers? Depending on the lift/duration of the cam you may need different valves or just get different springs as stated by Mpaint99.

Edit: Ford does a really bang-up job of confusing people. I just took a look at a head parts explosion. What OEM refers to as a lifter is actually a follower. [>:]Ask most mechanics and look at the TSB released by ford for SERVICE, they're refered to as a cam follower, not lifter.

http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=159&viewfile=Engine.pdf look at page 303-01 b3 there is a part called Hydraulic lash adjuster. there is a possabilty that's whats making your noise. idk if in the new heads they self adj but in other cars they dont. with more agressive cams they could bleed down causing a light tickin noise.

ps http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=146&viewfile=Engine.pdfis a good place to start looking at what might cause the noise
