LT install
I pulled the trigger on the ceramic BBK LTs and o/r x that Brenspeed has (yes i added the O2 extension wires) and think theyw ill go great with my 4.10s (which go in next tuesday the 18th)
My question is, is it worth the 300-400 to have the LTs installed...or should I attempt myself? (keep in mind I have no use of a lift)
Has anyone tackled this and if so how bad was it? (length oftime spent, pics, war storeis etc)

People have done it without a lift, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I did it on a lift (Mac LTs) and it took me about 5-6 hours (this includes distractions such as dumbass friends and alcohol). It is not something I would want to do on jackstands/ramps.

$300 - $400 isn't bad considering it can take 5+ hours for someone that knows exactly what they're doing. Took me a Sat and Sun on jack stands in my garage. It's satisfying knowing you did it yourself and it's not mechanically hard, but it's not easy.

Its certainly not the easiest install, but I managed it with jackstands and a floor jack. Here's an install guide that helped me out quite a bit:

I got a call from Seth at Brenspeed and he informed me that the BBKs I wanted were gonna throw a check engine light that couldnt be tune dout, it would have to be shut off perm. He wanted to make sure I was aware of it and gave me a choice of still completing the order or switching to the Kooks or MACs which dont have this problem. Apparantly its due to design changes in the headers from BBK, SLP, Bassani etc. and their changing the O2 designs, even with the O2 extensions, it throws a code that cant be tune dout and if you have to go to emissions and plug in your cars computer they see that code has been shut off and you got problems. So, I went with the ceramic coated MACs with o/r x . Anyone using the MACs?
Im running a full mac setup and (LT,prochamber, axlebacks)and it sounds GREAT!.Im putting thumpers in over the winter,I cant wait to hear it then. The mac headers are very nicley made,no fitmant issues at all.If I had to do it again,I would not think twice about buying them again.I also bought them from brenspeed lt/prochamber package. You will have to get the moniters shut off in a tune though because you cannot buy o2 simultors anymore.Ive had mine on for about 6 months and have never even done a retorque and still not a leak at all.I would go for the macs, you cant beat the price for as good as there quality is.I put them in on jackstands,it wasnt bad at all,I wouldnt mine doing it again at all.If you have any mechanical experince,it shouldnt be bad for you.If you need any pointers,PM I can give you some help.Good luck!
Thanks! I have always been impressed with Brenspeed. The fact they called me before t hey shipped my original BBk setup to inform me of the problems and see if I still wanted them or a different setup says a lot about them. They care about your happiness with their products. How long did it take you to install the setup on jackstands? I figure since the MAC LTs are midlength, it might make it easier to install. With these two additions...my exhaust will finally be finished..i cant wiat to fire it up and hear that LT sound with my overaxles and my bassani axle backs.
The install took around 5-6 hrs total.Of course I was in garage with a few buddies and took a few smoke breaks and ate some pizza and BS'd,but its really not bad at all though. These are actully cakewalk compared to the sn-95 header install...NEVER AGAIN,those suck!Congrats on the purchase though, brenspeed does have the best customer support ive ever dealt with.
lots of guys have done the install, it isn't too bad compared to others. you will still need to raise the engine a bit or move the steering column, but it's about as good as it gets as far as headers go.
