Default I need some advice

I have an 07 mustang gt with about 16000 miles on her. I've notice the last 3 oil changes that my oil was low any where from 3/4 to a full quart of oil. I use Mobil1 full syn. 5w20. At about 6,000 miles i replaced my plugs with some colder ones and one of my plugs had a little oil on it. Every once in awhile i will get a small puff out the tail pipe on start up only. When I checked the anti-freeze it was clean. My Question is, is this something that I definately should get into the dealership and the other is should I take off the under drive pulleys, also has anyone had problems reflashing their tune to stock in order to take in for warranty work. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You don't mention what your oil change frequency is but 3/4 to 1 quart sounds a bit high regardless if it was every 3,000 miles or 10,000 miles IMO. You should still be under warranty so I'd have the dealership take a look although I wouldn't be surprised if they tell you "it's within normal limits" (I wouldn't accept that answer, btw).

One option is to revert back to the Motorcraft synthetic blend to see if it still uses oil. It's possible the M1 is a tad thinner enough to cause a littlemore seepage and that one cylinder is on the hairy edge. As far as the puff of smoke, our Stangs are notorious for this after a startup following a previous quick start/stop (like backing out of or into a garage).

Don't sweat the UDP's or even the tune. Oil consumption is not tied to either.

I was mostly curious if the dealership would have a problem with me having the underdrive pulleys, as far as warranty issues are concerned.

It depends which UDPs you have. Steeda claims that their manufacturing grade makes them a ISO 9001:2000 Certified Global Manufacturer of Ford Performance Parts and that their pulleys will not viod your warranty.

That is why I bought Steeda UDPs!

I had a new Oldsmobile that I switched to Mobil one and the car started leaking oil.
Had to have a GM tech drive 200 miles to fix it after the dealer tried for 9 months.
I now stick with the blend from Ford and haven't bought a GM product since 1983.

I agree all the way up there. I'm switching back to Motorcraft oil next interval, I remember seeing somewhere in a tech manual that M1 loses it's viscosity really quickly. If the oil loss persists then by all means take it back to dealer, check that spark plug also......keep in mind that these Modular motors also collect oil in the intake manifold due to PCV.

I know this is probably not related to the oil consumption, but I thought that the colder spark plugs were only recommended if you have a supercharger or turbo. I could be mistaken though, I'm not 100% sure.
