Default Just bought a 2008 GT/CS

I just bought a 2008 GT/CS (high perfomance white with 8k miles). I have waited a long time for this moment and it is finally here. Now that I have the car what are some of the cheaper things I can do to increase performance? I don't know that much about cars as far as modifications but will get better at it this is all new to me. Suggestions would be much appreciated.

Cold air intake and tuner combo from Brenspeed or Bamachips. Anyone who's used a screwdriver before could put this mod on their car. It's a great start with very noticeable gains. Happy modding!

Nice car! what East said though is best to start out with. An intake and tuner will really open the car up.

I sold my Cali vert but, she was nice! I would try Brenspeed or Tillman speed for a tune and CAI. Next, look for some Hertz mufflers!

As you can tell, I stuck with performance white!

Don't understand why someone would buy a new Mustang, only put 8000 miles on it and sell it. Heck, the fun's just starting then. Must have wanted the 2010 or a GT500. Dunno.

Because most people that buy a new car don't know the actual cost of ownership (beyond just the car payment) There's insurance and gas. I'm guessing that at 8000 miles the owner probably had enough time to drive until they got their first full insurance bill then went "oh shiz" I can't afford that AND filling up my tank twice as often... besides they could've had a crappy driving record which would've really driven up the insurance costs.

I know mine doubled when I went from a V6 to a V8 and I'm 35 with a perfect record.

Oh and so I don't get accused of Hijacking, to the OP:

Bamachips or Brenspeed are the two of the best companies to go with that offer CAI+Intake combos. Tons of experience (read best bang for your buck) and great customer service.

That's what happened to me (upgrade to gt500) as I didn't think the gt500 price would get as low as they are now.

Pale horse- make sure you post some pics in the white mustang thread that's going here.

First off thanks to all of you for responding. I talked to some people yesterday and they told me this stuff as well so I will be atleast getting a CAI with a tuner.

Before I bought this car I did all the insurance/gas/car payment stuff. I knew I could afford it. I am by no means a rich guy I'm an E-5 in the Air Force that did not get a bounus this is all saved cash from deployments. This is a big step up for me, my previous car was a 99' Eclipse that had no ***** at all.

I'm 47 with a 08 GT/CS. I have full coverage insurance with Farm Bureau for 560.00 a year with a near perfect driving record. I had a V6 before this. Don't remember what the insurance cost was but I think it was about the same.
