08S197,

I am the one who started that other thread. I have the exact problems you are having. No power below 3000 rpms, Cold start and drive off is jerky and sometimes backfires in the air intake. Stock tune is waaaaaay better below 2500-3000 rpms. As a matter of fact, the stock tune is better in every way except after 3000 rpms. I wonder if it's the cold air intakes that don't program well with these Brenspeed tunes. I have a Granatelli Cold Air Intake. Which one do you have? I'm thinking about going with Bama or VMP just so I can have SOME power at the lower rpms and others say the power is better with these other tunes below 3000 rpms.

hmmm... that's weird. I have heard great things about Brenspeed for the manual trans and I have Bama for my auto trans and they are supposed to be the two best. If it's not the tune for any reason, get some new gears and that will fix it!

Im running the 91 tune on my auto and I have a ton of low end torque. That is strange why your car is acting that way. And very suprising also it is a tune from brenspeed. They are well known for having great tunes. Hope you get it corrected soon.

i have read many posts about brenspeed tune been sluggish under 3000 rpms.i myself have bama 93 race tune and brenspeed 93 tune and i cant tell the difference in power between both of them under 3000 rpms, they both pull hard from a dig.the only exception to them is that i save more gas with the brenspeed tune.by the way the car is an auto.

I noticed better MPG when I had my Brenspeed tune too. I no longer do have their tune since my mods have changed quite a bit and I switched to Bama over a year ago. I've been meaning to buy another tune from them and see if it's any better this time around as I also had crappy performance < 3K. Maybe that is why my MPG was so good, lol!

I used to always have a pinging problem 4K and up with all my tunes (even stock) when it was warm or hot out. But, since I recently put on my headers and changed the plugs to HT1 I haven't had any pinging and it's been 100+ here in Texas recently. Maybe it was my plugs causing it. Brenspeed tried to adjust my tune many times to combat the pinging but it never went away no matter how much timing they pulled. Now that it has seemed to stop after my latest work, I want to get another Brenspeed tune and try them again.
