Default auto trans won't shift

Ok, here is the latest issue:
I put the new motor in this weekend, startde it up today, sounds great but it did throw code p0113. Not to worried about that right now.
Went to shift into reverse....nothing.All thie linkage is on correctly and all connectors seem to be tight.
We lost a minor amount of trans fluid during removal so i figured that it was low.
Drained the pan, got just over 4 quarts out. Put 5 quarts back in (pain in the but) when i filled with a tube, it was overflowing back out the plug so i assume its full.
The car does go into all gears mechanically. But when it is started, the rpms drop (so there seems to be a load on the engine) but it will only move an inch or two in reverse. When you rev it in gear...nothing.
The trans was fine before i put a hole in the motor, so i know it works.I know it is something electrical (servo, etc) but need some help figuring it out please.

it will shift through all the gears manually, but will the car move in any of them? or is it just reverse that moves at all?

Car will not move at all when started. It does go into park fine and when the motor is off or on, the shifter works fine. No mechanical hangups, seems that the fluid is low, but it is not...wierd!

Ok, after looking through the service manuals for the trans, here is what i found.
The MAF sensor also regulates trans pressure control, and shift & convertor clutch scheduling.
I am showing cod p0113 (intake air temp sensor 1 high). What would cause this and how do i fix it? Also, could i be that lucky to have that be the issue/..The reverse lights do go on when in reverse.

To me it sounds like the converter is not properly installed in the transmission. I have seen this happen in other cars, the converter didn't go all the way onto the input shaft and when they started the car it wouldn't move. I would recommend not running the car any more until you figure it out.

How would the convertor bolt up to the flywheel all the way if it was not on all the way?

your best bet would probably take the whole tranny out and get it serviced. better safe than sorry.

When you installed the tranny did it fit flush with the block or did you draw it tight with the bolts? The converter has to engage the input shaft twice as you slid it back. You can think it is all the way on but it wont be. When you install the tranny it should fit flush with the block and then you have to bring the converter froward a little to bolt it in.

I have seen this happen and the converter and tranny were both trashed.
