Tri-Ax
so i put my triax in over the weekend and i noticed i can feel the vibrtation alittle more thru the shifter alittle more than the stock shifter... is this normal or is there something i might not of done properly? its not terrible, just some extra vibration

I had a Steeda Tri-Ax, but it was not long for this world. It made tons of noise, but was mainly caused by the fact that it fell apart. Not saying anything about the shifter. I know they're good. It's just the guy that put it in (previous owner) was a d-bag. I replaced it with a Hurst and it's very quiet. Still vibrates a bit, though.

The bushing is a urethane one rather than a rubber one so yeah it will make more noise and vibration. I was able to tame mine to near stock by some well placed dyna-mat and wrestling the rubber boot back on.

I had lots of added vibration upon installation. Mine had red bushings and I think Steeda has now changed to rubber, or something else softer. I put some dynomat between the chassis and the rear mounting point of the shifter and it reduced it to a tolerable level. I still think it is a bit harsh for a street car, but it was for free. The story goes that the previous owner hated the vibration so much he put the stocker back in and included the Tri-ax in the sale. When I re-installed it I realized why he took it out.

Hmmm I was thinking about getting the triax too. I used to have an 89 mustang with a hurst shifter and I didn't mind it, so I am wondering if I will like the triax. How is the shifter feel besides the vibration and noise?
