i too had the blackened tips with brenspeed tune and if i let it sit for about 30 seconds at idle, it would damn near bog down and die. turned out that brenspeed sent my tune for a 95mm MAF when i only had an 80mm.

on the dyno, i was showing 30% too much fuel...lol...anyways, got it straightened out and a new tune the emailed the same day. ran fine but not using it anymore since i got the dyno tune done.

How much HP did the dyno tune add over Brent's tune and how about driveability issues if you had any? DYNO worth the cost? I guess the HP/torque will answer that!

my tuner squeezed 4HP and 7lb-ft torque over brents tune...not too damn bad if you ask me. also, brenspeeds tune seems to have a lot more low end power than my dyno tune. But, my dyno tune seems to outperform brenspeeds tune on the top end.

needless to say, brenspeed seems to have their **** together if they can near perfectly tune a car and that car be over 1000 miles away from their shop.

Did you just have Brent's basic $75. tune or what came with the tuner if from him? That iis amazing. I am getting a lotof heat to get a dyno tune but I started datalogging and my SVT 255lph fuel pump is maxed if I read it right, .71% when 50% is max. Now what It mnesses a lot of parameters up! 4HP, man that is amazing!

All due respect, but I have a VERY hard time believing that people are getting 28 and 29 mpg, even just highway. Really?! The window sticker on these states, what? 23mpg or 24mpg, right? And those are admittedly higher than reality. I mean on my old Evoperform tune with 60 miles a day of cruise control driving, I'd get 25... MAYBE, but that was when I was trying... coasting, hyper-miling, light foot driving...

I agree that the trip computer is WAY off if it said you were averaging 33mpg on a road trip. Something ain't right there. Do you all have your proper gear and tire size programmed, if you're a different than stock size? That can have a big effect as well (not sure if thats to the good or bad side though... my mind don't work THAT good anymore.)

Anyway, just my $0.02. I've been wrong once or twice before.

Some folks will hit "Reset" while cruising which is incorrect if that's how they're claiming their mileage. It has to be from pump-to-pump and even then, about 90% of the on-boards are about 2 MPG off to the conservative ( high ) side.

I have been hand calculating my mileage for about 34 years now. I have, on a few occasions with the Stang, gone pump-to-pump at 60 MPH and averaged 27 MPG, although I typically run 70-75 MPH steady pump-to-pump. I average 23-24 MPG. I have 35,000 miles on the Stang and about 95% of that is road trips in excess of 400 miles one way so I have a LOT of excellent highway data.

with the mods listed on my car i get about 16 from what the computer says on my car. Im getting ready to take a trip out to atlantic city from indianapolis and i will hand calculate to see what im getting. I havent input the new tire sizes in my hand held and uploaded it to the car yet so i guess that could be the reason. Would my tire sizes be the reason for what the computer is showing. Im hoping to get around 19 to 20 on the highway but we will see.

Im happy with my tune. The car has nice power all they way through the rpms. When i first got my tune from brenspeed once the cams were installed the bottom end was a bit sluggish but a revised tune has fixed that and made me smile. Since i dont drive my car much the bad mpg isnt a big factor for me. Im planning on putting a saleen supercharger on in the spring so hopefully i will got some better mpg with that.

Did someone on this thread say that BAMA tunes are still having problems with support and some tunes. I can remember posting about my first tune from brenspeed and that guy from bama tried to get me to change to his tunes. I thought that was bad business b/c if i wanted to try his tunes im certain that i would call him and give him a try.

I too noticed a drop in my highway mileage. When new with the stock tune, I was getting about 24 on long interstate trips. I just loaded a Brenspeed tune this summer, because my previous tune kept coming up with the lean condition code. I love the low end power, and my around town mileage is the same. However, I just took a 250 mile trip, all highway, and got 20.5 mpg. I was going about 75 for most of the way, and that is a station to station hand calculation. Oh well, I didn't buy the car for its mileage.
