Smog county hell/tuning cams for pass
Just another idea, Brenspeed and Tillman can make you an email tune that will work quite well with cams that will pass emissions. That would be a little cheaper and you need an SCT anyway.
Another thing that I find weird is SCT is now Murillo's sponsor and yet he still tunes Mustangs with DiabloSport. WTF?

I called Brenspeed this morning. There's only one guy there, everyone else is at some race this weekend. He couldn't answer any of my questions. I'm going to call JDM now.
I wondered about the SCT/Murillo thing myself. I'm still thinking about shipping my tuner back to him and letting him see what he can do with it. I paid $75 for the retune and it's not working...
Just called JDM. They're all out of town as well but she said that can do me a mail order tune for the FRPP cams and emissions.. but I need an SCT tuner which is $375. This is gonna hurt to keep the cams any way I look at it.

Just talked to a few others that agreed Diablosport has some issue with their software and tuning for emissions. Pro Modular here in Austin found someone that will pay my labor bill for the old cams so I'm out of pocket ZERO for the swap. Bye bye hot rods. The minuses with these cams just outweighed the pluses. I have to get my car legal NOW and not pay hundreds of dollars for a question mark of an outcome doing it.
I'll re-register my car in a non-emissions county or slap on a blower that will accomodate an emissions tune.

i said bye bye hot rods too, so i know how
it hurts.
i don't understand how replacing the
cams, is going to help the obdII scan meet
standards.
looks like sir knight may finally be getting
cammed after all.

It's not a cams issue, it's a tuner issue. Diablosport has a problem with their tuning software. I would have to purchase a $375 SCT tuner then get the thing re-dyno'd for $380 up in Dallas OR start collecting mail order tunes at $100 a pop (or whatever they cost) that may or may not work.
All the while driving a car that's going to rack me up tickets or get my license taken away.
IF THERE WERE ANY GOOD TUNERS IN AUSTIN TX THIS WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM lol I'm not driving 3.5 hours up to dallas or 1.5 hours down to san antonio for hit miss tuning or dyno tuning or whatever. It's just not worth it to me unless I live there. I have a 50 hour/week job and I can't be running around trying to get my car right.

I agree with sir knight, even if you sell the cams you still have to get the 02 sensors turned back on. My 2 cents, order a SCT handheld from brenspeed, let them know all of the add ons that you have and tell them you need to pass an emissions test. Sell your Diablo sport and what ever you get for it will be deducted from what you pay for the SCT. If you get a ticket, most cops give you 2 weeks to a month to appear before the court. Once you pass you just show the judge proof of the inspection and it will be dropped. I am a cop in an emissions county south of Houston and I believe that is how it works down here. My brother is a deputy district clerk for Travis County, I will verify with him for you if you want. Just PM me. Also, I'm not 100%, I will have to check the Texas Trafic Code but I believe you have to have the emissions done in the county your car is registered in and you reside.
