Default P0153

I got this error this morning, I did recently install o/r x and lt headers (kooks). I've had them on the car for about a 10 days or so, didn't have a problem until today.

The only thing I changed was I put BP gas instead of Shell (what I used to do). Good thing is I filled it 1/4 tank, so I'm gonna wait until it runs low then use Shell back again hoping it'll get rid of the problem, I did check the sensors made they're tight, they were. If problem persists I'm calling AM where I got my tuning.

Anything else you guys recommend doing?

P0153 and P0133 are slow response codes for the front O2 sensors. Your tune needs to be adjusted for the LT headers since your O2s are farther away from the engine than they used to be. Lucky for you, Kooks are easier to tune than any other LT header.

Any reason why it would throw the code after the car been running for a while?

I've been running Kooks for a few months and no issue with that code until two days ago. It came on shortly after I stopped to get gas in the morning. I think no matter what, with headers you're going to get this code every once and awhile. Some will want to throw it more than others.

So I cleared it and I'll see if it ever comes back.

It takes a bit for the ecu to learn the response time. This is easily corrected with a tune. Its also caused by having the o2 sensors in a cooler part of the exhaust so they take longer to heat up properly.

I just got another tune from AM, they e-mailed me one 20 min after I talked to them. About to test it out now and see how it goes.

False. VMP had me a tune that didn't throw that code in 3 months. Now I'm back to having the code with an unfinished JDM supercharger tune.

I'd suspect the AM tunes before anything else.
