Which short throw shifter is the best rated?
I'm looking at the Hurst shifter, the Rousch shifter, and the Steeda shifter.. The Steeda shifter makes a good case with its stop-bolts to prevent damage to the transmission and linkage under hard usage. And its two-position handle height with calibrated internal spring tension to assist in never missing 3rd gear! I have heard the Hurst shifter is noisy. And i don't know about the Rousch shifter. Please chime in if you own 1 of these shifters...

I have the Steeda Tri-Ax and have no complaints. The shift from 2nd to 3rd is about as effortless as you can get.
Regarding the stop bolts though, our transmissions already have stop bolts for 2nd and 3rd gear, so it is very important that they're set correctly on the Tri-Ax. It's not difficult at all, but take the time to make sure they're tight.
Also, if you don't already have a single piece driveshaft and are interested in one I highly recommend doing both mods at the same time since changing the shifter is a lot easier with the driveshaft out.

I have the Roush set up installed with some dynamat on the tunnel. Its louder, but not enough to make me dislike it. Its notchy like I wanted and works good. I bang the gears and have not felt I needed stops to prevent damage.
Ive been waiting for them to release it for my v6 since Jan. I've great things about the new model for the 10's! Let us know how it goes.
+1. Did you order the MGW through Tillman, or are you just utilizing them for install?
Oh, and I'm gonna assume that it was my post that influenced your purchase. I wish I could manipulate my wife so easy.

Not quite, i spotted the mgw in last months 5.0 mag and i could tell it was a well made piece. But when i went to their website it said 2010 gt's coming soon! so for a while i thought i'd have to wait for it. I didn't really want to wait, thats why i asked about the other 3 shifters. Then when i called they said they had 2010 in stock...So "availability" is what influenced my decision. . Tillman installs shifters left and right and they have a lift. They did my shaft-masters aluminum drive shaft install also. I will set up an appointment when i get the shifter... they are asking $85 for an install of the Hurst shifter they sell, it cant be much more then that...
