Default Vortechv3 install..

about halfway done with the install and all is well. Had to work around a lot of time constraints but got a lot of it done so far. Did the spark plug removal expecting the worse, ended up not even having the horrid two piece design but the one piece replacements. It even has the brown spark plug boot, go figure.

Bad news was, the Brisks spark plugs that came with the kit were not the right ones. Oddly enough, even at 27k miles- the stock ones were in great shape, so I cleaned them off, re-gaped them to .032 and put them back in.

I remember reading that the Magna charger did not require a spark plug change, so I figure I would be okay with the Vortech as well. I know, apples to oranges but they put out about the same amount of whp, with more going to the Magna (at this level)

Looking good so far! I highly recommend this kit for DIY yourself install ( if you have all the tools needed and general mechanical understanding) .. just keep a Die grinder and a drill handy.

brown plug boots are good, that's the mid 08 and up change to the new design that doesn't get stuck.

low boost you'll be ok, 1 heat range colder is extra insurance though. just keep an eye on knock, if you get any, then get the 1 heat range colder plugs in there.

I hope the stockers will be fine.. I emailed Brenspeed about the spark plugs so I hope I can still send these back. They are brand spanking new except for one thats been gapped to .032.

lol thanks.

Doing great on the install. Finishing up, just have to run to the store for extra wires and a hose for the intake, a few other things and I am set!

... I can't wait to drive her!

thanks! I took a few at the beginning but stopped when I realized it starting to look like the vortech install guide lol

I did take some of the bolts you're supposed to modify in order to make the blower housing fit as well as the cool looking boost a pump.

Kudos for Vortech for making a great looking supercharger and ease of install!

I'll write down tips on how to make it an even easier install once I clean out the engine bay of grime and detail the interior a bit.. pretty raunchy for a GT. Not good lol.

Cool man, let us know what you think of it when complete. You'll have to take the torch for the official forum V3 question answerer, since I sold the Mustang a few weeks ago.
