Default Gears

I dont really like the stock gears in my 2010 Gt they are 3.31's and its boring hitting 80 in second gear and third + gear seems like granny gears. I was wondering what gear ratios do you guys recommend my car is a 5speed.

Thanks

A lot of guys including me are running 4.10s the other popular choice is 3.73.

I had the same situation a few weeks ago, chose the 4.10's because I didn't think the jump from 3.31 to 3.73 would be enough. I am very happy with the 4.10's, definitely made the car feel "lighter".

My RPM's went to 2450 at 70 MPH with the 4.10's, was 2000 at 70 MPH with the 3.31's, the computer gas mileage says 21 MPG, was saying 23 MPG with the 3.31's. I like to drag race so losing some top end doesn't bother me, lots of people on the forum will argue that you won't lose any top end, probably right too, I also don't like going over 120 or so, just not my thing.

The only place you will ever "test" your top end is on a track and there is plenty of top end for a 1/4 mile.

Do you do much, if any, highway driving? I'd recommend 3.73's if you do some minor highway but not if you typically cruise at 70 MPH with your daily commute (unless you don't mind dropping a few bucks more/week in fuel).

I have 3.55's and do mostly highway driving. They're spirited enough around town and do very well highway. If I drove a larger % of city I'd have opted for 3.73's.

You won't loose any top end. You will loose top speed, but who cares about that. I don't need to be going 165 mph.

Go with 4.10s

3.73 are good for a daily driver, will still put you back in the seat but wont kill top end or mileage. One of my next purcahses

I agree with 3.73 choice especially if the car is a DD or sees very little track use.
