Default Tire sizes

Sorry if this is a repeat, I'm looking to put new wheels on 18x9 front and 18x10 on the rear of my 2007 GT Prem. I hate the low profile tires that seem to have taken over. I want the more muscle car appearence with a taller tire aspect. I am looking at either 305/35/18 only because of the width on these, or 295/45/18 I prefer the 295 because of the aspect, concern is this, the actual height of the 295's are 28.31 on the rim. I have stock suspension, will I have a problem with this height?

will the 295/45/18 fit on the rear if I'm lowered with the FRPP lowering kit on my 08 GT.

The 295's are not that bad, but you do notice the difference with the taller tire in the rear. Here is a pic of mine. Once I put the supercharger on it lowered the front a little, so now I will probably buy new springs soon to even it out a little.

Mine do. These are 305/45/18, Nitto 555DR.

I used to run 295/45/18 NT05 in the rear. Keep in mind with that tall of a tire you will probably notice a decrease in acceleration. I know I did. Not just due to the extra overall diameter - but those are very heavy tires as well. And wheels.

I didn't notice any decrease in accelleration, but they are really heavy compared to my track tires.

throwing my 2cents in and a lot of people don't care but your speedometer will be off, what's mean other than you may be going faster than actually are going or in my case i went from 24/45/19's to 295/30/20's on rear and 255/35/20's on front rears are what makes speedo off, i was going 60 actually was doing 57, no big deal but ended up the mileage changes too, so after 10,000 miles had 400 more miles than really had, another not big deal unless like me and your warranty runs out quiker, but buy a sct x3 and you can't get it exact but you can get close, take your GPS when you change out first time, reference the size i went, they ended up being less tall than 19's due to aspect.

Probably a lot less likely to notice it when you're north of 400whp.

A slow bolt on car OTOH - the little stuff seems to make a bigger difference.

I was debating between 285/40/18 and 295/45/18 for the rear tires. I ended going with the 285/40/18 as its close enough to stock height. With 255/45/18 in the front, 285/40/18 look wide enough, especially with D/D rims in the rear.
