FRPP Top end package
I donīt care if itīs cost effective versus FI, or not, I want it!
What would you say if one were to install this kit, along with proper longtubes/CAI/dynotune, and a stroker crank?
I'm wondering why you would expect that much improvement? The biggest restriction to power on a 4.6 is the displacement. A 9.8:1 cr 3.552" piston with a 3.543" stroke and 6250 rpm redline will only draw so much air/fuel mixture. Ford designed good flowing heads, great cams and exhaust into this motor. The stock TB flows 875 cfm for crying out loud. While there is some room for improvement it's not going to be in big numbers, at least not while being driveable.
BTW, I just gave a quick look on CJPonyParts, and 3,700$ isnīt a very good deal on that kit. You can buy everything individually on CJPP for 3,711$, or if you get the cams/manifold/TB combo, itīs actually 3,645$
Free shipping either way. 10% off days might effect the covers making it 3,622$, but Iīd just paint the old ones and cut the price down to 3,420$

If you are going to do the heads, you need a pretty aggressive cam to take advantage of the top end flow,.... and be prepared to lose some low end torque. I suspect that the FRPP and C&L manifolds will only compound the gain/loss from heads and cams on both the top and low end. Mid range is likely to change very little.
I'm jumping in the boat with the guys that say the manifold is best suited for high compression N/A builds or high boost applications.
I'd say you have deep pockets. You would also need stroker pistons and rods. Eaglestroker has a setup close to what you are describing except I think he's at 11:1 on cr and has some custom heads and cams. He doesn't post on here much anymore but I believe he was making right around 375rwhp.
Now with all said I'd love to see you make the numbers you want to. I'm not trying to pee in your cornflakes, just add a bit of realism. I would love to be wrong on this. Go buy the parts and put them on. A head swap isn't that difficult, there is lots of room under the hood of our cars.
You could start a build thread once you start.
I have considered the FRPP package myself, even if they bring about humble numbers.
Just to keep things "simple". Sure, it's not a 550whp top end monster, but with a high stall converter, lightweight drive-shaft, lower control arms and the Top end package- the GT would still be pretty brutal at the drag strip and lots of fun to drive around town.

Here's a thread along similar lines. It's from another forum so hopefully this link will stay.

Well, I spoke with the dude again and he ended up running 12.3@114mph with some MT ET Streets, launching at 4500RPM.. something I am NOT capable of doing with the stock crappy 1800 stall torque converter lol
I was right at 12.5@110mph, with 2.0/2.1 60 fts. all day.
He ended trading it for an older STi though ...WTF?!
It's all good.. a few more mods and I'd dip into the 11's, something I very much doubt he could have done without some sort of FI. Great times for the mods though...
