Vortech winter heating
It attaches right onto the surface. These are actually "oil pan heater pads", manufactured by Wolverine Heating pads intended for the heating of oil pans by the quarts lulz.. considering the Vortech only holds 4 oz., I think it may be okay as well
I believe I use a high temp silicone sealent to mate the pad onto the unit.
I just have to be aware of where I park during the winter to make sure I have enough time to heat it up prior to EVERY start up until it gets a little warmer out.
It's not a bad alternative. I might have to take care of it during the winter.. but when spring/summer time comes.. I get to run 10psi with the intercooler upgrade! Vortech>

I want to eventually upgrade to a Roush TVS R2300, but right now I simply cannot afford it...

I am thinking about having the heating pad installed INSIDE the head unit, though unsure of where the supercharger oil occupies (which area). That way, the pad will heat up quicker due to its heat circulating inside the unit, as well as not being surrounded by freezing ambient air outside. The casing is aluminum, which is sure to head up quickly, the components are steel.
Hmm....
It sounds like a start to a good idea, but pretty sure it's not gonna work since oil does occupy a lot of the space inside the blower unit.

Damn you Vortech!
