Default Question regarding Spark Plugs

Okay, I already performed the search and couldn't find anything noteworthy... So here goes...

I have a 2005 Mustang GT with only a BAMA tune, axel backs, and my (infamously ridiculed as HVAC ducting) Spectre CAI. I have 8900 miles on her and want to change the plugs as the ones in there are the originals and prone to breaking.

I need to know:
1) is the Motorcraft SP462 the same 2-piece design as the orginal? (if so I will stay away from these)
2) who here has run the Autolite HT1's? Pros/Cons/Advice? These are almost half the price of the Champions but are they 1 piece design?
3) should I just get the Champion 7989?
4) Which would you get with my current mods? I don't plan on adding any power adders anytime in the near future.
5) is anyone interested in renting me their Lisle tool (I believe LIS65600)? I'll pay for shipping both ways plus pay you $10. I hope i won't need it, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks folks...

Don

Both the Motorcraft and Autolite plugs are the dreaded 2 piece design. Right now, the only 1 piece design plugs are Champion, Brisk and Accel. Brisk are designed as a racing plug and won't last very long. The Champion 7989 is a double platinum and should last easily to 100K miles. The last I saw of Accel, they were very expensive and I don't know much about the design. I have been running Champions for like 38K miles and haven't had a single problem.

Check Amazon! They have it for $55.99 - unfortunately, it's not shipped from Amazon so you'll have to pay some shipping. I bought it for when I finally get the guts to do the job. According to the Amazon reviews, most say it works well. A few said it wasn't worth the money because it galled the threads.

You pays your money and takes your chance!
