Default Ford Racing Brake Kit

I was wondering what you guys thought about this kit?

Up for sale is a brand new Ford Racing 14" Brake Upgrade kit for the vehicle(s) listed below.

Kit will upgrade the front brakes to 2007-2010 SVT Mustang 14" Rotors and Brembo 4-piston calipers.

Includes 2007 SVT Ford Mustang rear pads for use in stock Ford Mustang GT rear calipers.

Includes Goodridge DOT four-piece hose kit and attaching parts.

It's $1200 + shipping on ebay. Is this a good price? I'm looking more to upgrade the looks behind the new wheels, I don't track race.

The kit M-2300-S lists for $1,489.99, so yes that is a good price.

Frank the 11 5.0 i tested had that brake kit and it has better pedal feel. if all you are after is looks, you can get some nice looking rotors for a lot less money than that. I had the baer rotors on my 05 and they looked great, the whole set was like $300. i have seen other brands cheaper than that. If all i wanted was looks, that would be what i do. Also, look and see if you can find GT500 take offs, that is the same thing i believe. EDIT: I forget if you bought 20" wheels or not, you may have. That kit wont fit most 18" wheels FTR, and if you want is larger rotors, baer has an eradispeed kit for like $500 that uses 14" rotors on the front.

I'm in it for the looks and not sure what direction to take? I did end up getting 20" wheels, so I'm good there. I guess the calipers are a part of that look as well.

Shane, where is that kit for $500?

I've looked around and I'm finding the eradispeed for $600 front and $550 rear. Great looking rotors, by the way. Now I have to decided on:

Rotors, front and rear
Pads
Brake Lines
Brake fluid

Or

Front brake kit with pads for the rear

It looks like either on of those options are close to the same price, $1500?

i liked it, i like the instant low end power of my blown 10 better. You have to wring that 5.0 out. i would love to drive a blown 11 and see how it is. The 6-speed is fantastic though. Frank i was all over the place the last few days, it may have been BBR or i may be thinking about the price of that rear kit.

These are the baer rotors i had on my 05, they looked really good with 18" wheels:

I just had the brake kit installed, stopped awsome, works great, looks great. A few friends told me not to spend the money on the brakes, i did. I got a set of 18 2010shelby rims and tires. there is a lot of tire to stop. They feel good on the freeway and windy roads. Not cheap , but a safe upgrade for all those power upgrades.

They do look great...Did you ever have a rusting problem with these, especially on the non-contact areas?

$1200 isn't bad, but refine your search on ebay and you can find the same kit of about $100 less. I purchased by GT500 Brembo brakes which are the same as the M-2300-S Kit for less than $800 cause they were take offs for Shelby Super Snake upgrade with 10 miles on them.

You need to make sure that your wheels will clear the calipers, it is more the offset that the rim size, although 18" wheels are the minimum size. I already had GT500 take off wheels, so I had no issue, but the factory Mustang GT wheels will not fit in any size.

If you get new wheels, make sure that they fit a GT500 to ensure that they clear the calipers. I had to let my nephew borrow the GT500 wheels off my wifes car, cause his 19" GT wheels did not clear the calipers. ebay has the GT500 take off wheels and tire with TPMS sensors form between $850 - $925.
