Default $1500 to spend

Already did the S197 basics (CAI/tune/4.10 and UDP's). Over the winter did the Pypes X pipe. Thinking of LT headers or CAMS? A few questions would headers make the car louder? I feel it is loud enough already with the stock cat back.

What can I expect (HP/TQ) at the wheel in terms of gains of either the LT or CAMS? Although I am not crazy about the lopey idle sound truth be told.

I dynoed 280HP before I did the pipe 2 years ago.

Thanks,

J to the C

Of course LT's will make your car louder, a lot louder actually, especially if you end up with an o/r mid pipe.

LT's or Cams and a new tune should net what, about 15-20 RWHP?

Default Detroit Rockers

I emailed Brendspeed and for under $1500 you can get the Detroit Rocker cams, installed with a dyno tune.

The Rockers maintain street drivability, especially since you already have the 4:10's

BUT if you don't enjoy the "old school" lopey cam sound...then cams might not be your next mod...although either of your "wants" are going to get you a louder, different sounding car>>>>>>>>>>>

I have the Detroit Rocker cam with O/R H pipe, with chambered axlebacks and Hi flo cats (had to fix trumpeting sound). I was gonna do longtubes but like was said already it would make the car louder and i like the current sound of my exhaust. Im ok with not getting optimum performance from cams with the header install. I see a saleen supercharger in the near future probably next spring. The cams and install was about 1500

What/whose tunes do you have? 280 RWHP with a CAI & tune and UDP's sounds about 10-15 RWHP low which is about what you lose with a canned tune.

As far as $1500, are you hooking up with stock tires or have you upgraded those? I know that when I went to just a CAI & tune I couldn't hook worth a damn with the stock BFG's. I went with wider wheels and stickier tires.

Otherwise, I'd research the cams and LT's (and retune) for another roughly 20-30 RWHP. But I suspect that THEN you'll need better rubber if you don't already.

I'd upgrade wheels/tires. Or do a shocks/spring upgrade.

JBA or Kooks LT's, motor mounts and a tune.
