Default NVH? UCA

ok i have a ? i understand the idea of NVH but could someone please help further my knowledge.

Im looking at the steeda adjustable UCA and i have read theres some NVH. im just wondering how much were talkin here. is it noticable with the radio on or a loud exhuast setup.

how much vibration?

what kind of noise?

and what is harshness considered?

I know prob a dumb question but any input would help.

so long as it uses a poly bushing you should be fine. most cars that have noise after a mod like this is because they didn't know how to tighten the adjustment. If you crank it over one way, then tighten the lock nut against it, you mush the poly and make it bind, creating noise. you need two wrenches up there at a time so you can tighten it against itself and keep the end centered. On a side note, I have the CHE one and love it.

Take a look at JDWalton's mod list, he has CHE upper. I'ld go with that unit and their lowers too.

They make the best chassis parts that's why I removed all others from my site.

Just make sure whatever you buy you get the street versions not track version for minimal NVH.

good call, i alwasy wondered if there was a difference. also do you have LCAs bc i plan on doing those really soon. only prob is i like to install everything on my own... and i know you have to disconect the rear brake lines to take the stock LCAs off... how complicated is this...

As far as clunking and harshness spherical bearings are the worse, but they are also the most durable, polyurethane offers the best balance between noise and performance. Most of the track stuff uses spherical bearings

A disclaimer should be added to that, "Only if it is spherical on both sides or "Race" style." Also, "Or if the installer does not understand how to properly set up a spherical end."

I call people on this as being BS all the time. I have adjustable LCAs, UCA, and Panhard that are all spherical ends on driveshaft side, poly on body side. I also have a CHE k member brace with limiters (also uses spherical ends) and the HD boxed sub frame connectors, with Eibach lowering springs. According to the masses my car should ride like a suspensionless brick rolling around on stainless steel ball bearings, but it feels and handles great with no noticable increase in cabin noise.
