Default cats... question

hey i really want to run an o/r x pipe on my gt... but cops in my area are a little tough... i was looking at the pypes o/r x pipe.

i jut had an idea though. if i bought that set up with here high flow cats i know they come seperate from the pipe. could i hollow those cats out and put a straight pipe through. or is that not worth it and should i just buy the magnaflow tru catted x.... help please.

also i have the pype bomb will the highflow magnaflow x make my exhuast sound noticably different

I doubt cops are pulling you over because they think your cats aren't cleaning the air. They're doing it because it's loud. Hollowing your cats our would be like buying a set of headphones and only wearing the plastic frame of it. Kind of pointless.

If you want to do that, just get a pair of stock cats and have them gutted. A lot of people that only have to pass visual inspection do this.

With the pype bombs, I would get a catted midpipe. A catted X would sound good with the pype bombs.

You can get a high flow catted system, they sound good and will pass, just a lil more expensive.

i was running pypes o/r x pipe with slps and it sounded like a nascar lol not great sounding to tell u the truth. I then put high flow cats welded them on and it brought the idle sound down still really loud though when trying to cruise and it still sounded to raspy for my taste. I switched my slps with macs and fell in love. Not as loud with the slps when cruising but it sounds 10 times better and just screams when you floor it and dont get me wrong you can still hear me. My pypes o/r xpipe did make my car sound alot better even when i had the stock axlebacks on it still sounded nice
