2010 Mustang GT Auto SCT SF3 / X3 Warranty Void, 0-60 questions...Anyone Know?
Ok, I just got a great deal on a 2010 Mustang GT Premium Auto (because of the 2011s) I have done a few 0-60 runs and got time of 5.043 . The car has 8200 miles on it, so I assume it will drop another .1 once the engine gets broken in. Can anyone confirm or deny from experience?
It has a bumper to bumper until 35K , and its a certified used ford, so it has the powertrain coverage until 100K. I have have had it for about two weeks, and I want to lower the 0-60 to 4.8 or 4.7 without canceling my warranty. (want to surprise some 2010 Camaro SS's off the line...haha). Here are my questions:
If I use the SCT SF3 / X3, and the the 91 or the 93 tune can I get to those numbers? And more importantly will I be able to drop the Tune back to stock, if I have a warranty claim. And most importantly will any sign of the tune still be present after I drive for about 50 miles (after its returned to stock), or will the dealership be able to tell?
Are there any ford techs out there that can confirm or deny if the memory will re-set after 50 miles and a stock tune?
Any knowledge would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jose

I'm not 100% sure about the specifics of what the intake/tune will do to your 0-60 time, but this combo is the quickest/easiest/relatively cheapest way to up your power numbers without doing some serious work. I wouldn't doubt that it would shave a few milliseconds off your time.
From what I've read on the Forums, you can "flash" the tune back to stock right before taking the car to the dealership. When the tech searches the memory, he can't see exactly what was done, but there is a log of the flashes. Some people say you can explain that away by saying the battery died or was disconnected, but I'm not sure on that. I also don't think there is a way to clear the memory either.

As far as warranty, a tune will not void your warranty unless it can be proven that the tune was the cause of the failure. Many people don't have the ***** to stand up to the delaership's intimidation so they revert back to stock; a roughly 10-15 minute procedure. My dealership never cared that I had a CAI & tune.

Installed the preloaded 93 Tune last night via a SCT Livewire. Ran a couple of 0-60mph & got 4.82 and 4.84. With a little practice I see 4.7 or even some 4.6s.
Ran one 1/4 mile and got 14.52 @ 105.7mph with no wheel spin so the timer must of started before I did. Need some pratice time.
The tune really woke the car up making it even more fun to drive.
Update: Go some runs in tonight
0-60 = 4.72 sec and 4.58 sec (started after the 3rd light on both runs)
1/4 mile = 106.2 mph & 106.9 mph. Finally saw the 13s
What I found with the SCT timer it starts even if you don't. Want a quicker time leave before the 3rd light. I got a 2.22sec 0-60. I waited ~5 secs after the 3rd light & got a 9.6 sec 0-60.
The factory EVIC timer on my Challenger doesn't start until the car moves. I get 4.1-4.3 0-60 mph times with it and got a 3.96 once.
