Default 2005 Engine Computer

Hey people... Right now I have a 2005 V6 and I am looking at MAYBE putting a V8 in it. I found a good deal and (apparently) all it is missing is the ECM and harness. I was looking online for a GT ECM and on eBay, I noticed it "said" it fits all engines.

My question is, could I possibly use my current 2005 V6 computer in a 2005 GT engine without problems? I know I will have to find a wiring harness elsewhere though. Thanks for your help!

(I looked a little lower and discovered, probably not. Still interested in responses though.)

If you look at the info below the table it only mentions 4.0 engines, which are the V6s.

Yea... That is why I put my "bold" response. I kept reading and saw that. Lol.

For your '05, you MUST have a '06 or '05 GT PCM, you cannot use the one from your V6.
You must also get the one for your drivetrain (manual or automatic).
Any other year model PCM's will not be compatible with the rest of the wiring (mainly the power feeds and BEC connector).

Refer to MustangCollective.com for details where many of us have done a v6 to v8 swap.
