Default electrical problem or car possessed?

hey guys have a 09 gt and live in nj (temperatures have been below freezing when this occured) was around 9pm and i locked the car with the key fob and the alarm armed. I went into my house and there is a window where i can see the car and after about thirty minutes the headlights came on as if i unlucked the car. both key fobs were sitting on the table so there was no chance i could have accidently hit it. i went outside and after a minute or two the lights went off. car has 20,000 miles and would like to get it looked at under warranty but i know theyre going to tell me "if it doesnt happen here there is nothing we can do" any input..thoughts..bulletins is highly appreciated

What do you mean the alarm armed? Do you have an additional or aftermarket alarm installed? If so then there most likely is an electrical issue.

For starters, have the alternator and battery load tested to rule those out. The S197's are notorious for electrical gremlins due to the charging system. Being an '09, I'd also think you could rule out the water leak but it isn't unheard of on the '08s and '09s.

Bring it up. The dealership had no idea what I was talking about when I asked them about leaking interiors on mustangs. He did say however that he had to replace an SJB, which is located right where water will leak. For this reason you must print out a copy of that TSB and show it to them when you bring the car in. Let them keep a copy and go over what needs to be done. Sad I know but at this point I think that we know what is going on with mustangs better than most ford techs. However like Nuke said this may not even be the problem. An easy way to check is to remove the plastic door seal and kick panel (slowly lift up or out and they just pop right out and are held in with metal clips) take off the clips on the carpet and feel under your carpet in corners and near the front and rear seat, if you feels moist at all then you may be a victim. I had nearly a cup of water. Also if your windows fog up when or after it rains is a good indication.

Men this is stupid, how many people have this issue. Im still fighting with sealing mine. My passenger side is good;however, the driver side now has water and it never did before. This sucks. Make sure that youre on the dealer, they are known for not solving the issue completely. Good luck
