Default rev limiter question

hey fellow mustang people..please help..i have a 2002 4.6 gt.stock with k&n and flowmasters. about 95,000 miles on it.rebuilt stock transmission about 6 months ago...lately my lil green rev limiter light keeps coming on way before it should and restricts my power..not sure why..clutch seems to be working fine..when im in first and try to gun it the lil green tubro looking light comes on right away and slows me down.then everything kicks back in after a few seconds ...also the smell of a burnt clutch happend the other day..so not sure if its my clutch which isnt having any problems that i know of. this happend about a week ago while racing a friend ive beaten many times but of course lost when my power wouldnt kick it..since then my car seems to be a lil slower when driving normally.also this may be normal but when im just regular driving on a pothole filled street and my tire comes off the ground the green light comes on again really fast it seems ..not sure if thats normal or not..thanks..any info would help..already started cleaning out maf and throttle body..oil change spark plugs..engine power just dosnt seem right anymore

You're posting in the 2005-2011 forum and I'm not familiar with the '02s. I can't help you, my friend.
