Any other states like this? So far I'm never moving to Arizona or California.

That's why you don't do things to your car in a state that requires certain emission testing, unless you're ready to spend a couple afternoon's swapping parts around.

All counties or just the country ones? Only the urban counties in GA have emissions.

Lack of emissions is the ONE thing I miss about Detroit. Crazy though, everyone in Detroit owns 2 or 3 beat down cars that run like crap. Hell, I was 17 in HS and had a 90 4cyl mustang and 88 CRX.

same in KY.. but everyone move to SC.. lol

actually they did emissions testing in Louisville for a few years, far as i know they don't do it anymore..

as far as i'm concerned, this testing is a BS way to get tax dollars, you can't tell me that all those semis belching black smoke isn't doing more to the air than 100 times as many cars (trucks don't get tested, but cars do)

but alas, i don't have a dog in this fight.. no testing for me! =D cats deleted.. thank you..

Not sure but the way it works here is first emissions testing the 5th year after the model year of the car. So since I have a 2008, the first year I will have to take for emissions is 2013, then its every 2 years after that. For cars made after 1985 (I think that year), they just plug into the ECU and years before 1985 they do the sniffer.

We also dont have a front license plate law but if you have a license plate bracket it cant cover the state name on the back....

Hey John, Someone on these forums has probably removed the parts you need to pass
your emissions test. It would be really cool if they could lend you the parts for long enough get your car passed. Keep looking, and good luck.
