Clutch problems
Ok so here is the deal. I bought a Yellow 2005 GT with 47,000 miles on about 3 weeks ago from a local Ford Dealer in Houston Texas. 2 weeks and 2,000 miles later i notice the clutch is slipping. I was getting on the freeway in and punched it in 3rd gear and i was like oh boy thats not good. So after much arguing with the dealer I finaly get them to agree to fix the car. Well they then get into the car and figure out it does not have the OEM clutch. At first they tell me its a SPEC clutch. Then today they tell me its actually a Summit Racing clutch and its going to take 3-5 days just to get the clutch shipped in from Georgia, But i can get the car back today if I want thew OEM clutch and Fly wheel put back in it. I am like you know what I am tired of you idiots and I just want my car back (they had the car since monday morning) So i am like just fix the damn thing and ill pick it up tonight. Well I go and pick it up and the clutch is so limp my 4 year old Daughter could have pushed it in. I mean its engaging and disengaging about an inch and a half off the floor. I practically killed it 3 times just backing it out of the space it was parked in. The dealer told me they wewre going to replace everything, from the Flywheel to the slave cylinder. Well one of the sales guys comes out and says "yeah its suppose to be soft like that". I am like man I have owned hondas with a stiffer clutch! Anyways the last mustang I owned was a 1991 LX 5.0 and that was 15 years ago. I remember reading in Car and Driver when the 05's came out that they had a stiff clutch for a factory clutch. So my question is this. What should an OEM clutch in an 05 GT feel like? Fairly stiff? Or should it be this "soft". I am wondering if they truely replaced everything...... Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!
