Noise after CAM install
I installed Detroit Rocker cams this week and the install went well. When I test drove the car I noticed the sound that a strong wind makes as it blows over your house. Kind of like a howling wind. The sound is isolated to the driver’s side (not sure it matters but I also replaced the valve covers). The sound gets louder as the rpm’s increased. I removed the valve cover and check all the cam followers. All are in place and there are no scratches on the cams. I then removed the caps and inspected each one. There were slight groves in a couple of the caps noticeable when I ran my fingernail over the surface. I can't say if these were there with the stock cams. I don’t notice any marks on the cams themselves.
I checked for vacuum leaks and I used a stethoscope to listen to the valve covers. The passenger side has slight tapping (I would assume the followers) and a whirring sound from the cam. The driver side has a significant increase in tapping that is focused around the camshaft phaser and #5 cylinder. I followed the instructions for tightening the caps and even remove, inspected, and re-torqued the caps. Any idea what I could have done/didn’t do to cause this problem? How could I her excessive tapping up front, but the sound diminishes as you move back towards #8 cylinder. Would this cause the wind rushing noise I hear (which seems to be traveling down the exhaust because I can hear it on the side of the car and in the rear when my wife revs the engine)?
You can really hear the sound in the attached video as the engine RPMs increase/decrease.
I am at a complete loss of that could be causing this sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, Hopefully someone can help you out here. Maybe if you contact brenspeed they might be able to help you they have been very helpful for me. Or maybe where you purchased it from could help.

He took it to Brenspeed where they tried to troubleshoot it, swapped out the cams to a new set of Rockers, and BAM it was gone
His install was spot on. Sounds like it was something wrong with the cams themselves.
