Default Gears

I just purchased a 07 mustang gt. I got on it in second and got to almost 80 before shifting. I was wondering if this is stock gearing or not.

Thanks,
Travis

Best way to tell is what rpm are you in 5th gear at 65mph?

I'm thinking he has 3.55's. I don't really glare at the speedo when I get on it but when I look down after going into 3rd at WOT I'm already pushing 80-85. Also, about 2k rpm @ 70mph in 5th.

He's got to have 3.31 gears, I have to shift out of second at around 65 with my 3.55 gears. All assuming the 6250 redline of course.

Sounds like 3.55's to me. One of my speed vs RPM spreadsheets begins at 1900 RPM and the other spreadsheet has a chart that won't get me down to that level of detail. But it also depends on your tire OD, too.

Stock was 3.31. The 3.55's were a $100 upgrade option in 07.
