Ihave a problem with my transmission not going manually into low gear ,i un hooked the cable from the shifter from under the car i can pull the cable from park to 2nd when i pull to low it moves maybe a 1/4 inch not fully to get low gear ,bought the car a month or so ago have always ad this issue any ideas

 

You should always check the fluid....cause you never know with this trans. There is no dipstick so you gotta follow the manual. Does it shift normally when you put it in Drive? The linkage needs to be just right or it wont got all the way down. Look up the video for installing a TCI ratchet shifter. It shows how to adjust that linkage. Its simple.

 

it cant be the shifter i unhooked it and manually shifted from under the car and it wont go into low gear

 

What about when you have it in Drive. Does it run through the gears normally?

 

yes goes through all the gears in drive shifts good no issues there
