Is there anyway I can hook a laptop up to my 97 Ford Mustang? I know there is a port under my steering wheel, above the pedal's, but I was just wondering what the cord was called and if it would work. Thank's.

 

What exactly are you trying to accomplish by connecting to the OBDII Port?

The cable is easy to find OBDII to USB port adaptor but it requires special (expensive) software to be able to do anything and unless you also have a wide band sensor and/or a dyno, it's pointless to get in there and mess with anything. You will only ruin the PCM (Brick it) and possibly damage the motor/tranny.

 

I was just wanting it so it would display my rpm's, mph and all the other stuff.

 

There are apps on smartphones for this. I know on Android there's an app that picks up engine/speed/temp info from your car, you just have to plug in a bluetooth transmitter to the computer. Buy the app, sync with the device and bam, you can do all kinds of cool crap.
